Please excuse all the grammar errors for I did not double check anything nor did I really stop to think about what I wanted to say, my thoughts had just naturally all spilled out.. >.<
Your instructor would like to know whether there is something you believe he/she has done especially well in his/her teaching of this course.:
The instructor was really nice, and really wanted us to focus in class by not letting us use any type of technology besides a calculator. Offering office hours that I never went to because I couldn’t go during those times were generous of her.
Your instructor would also like to know what specific things you believe might be done to improve his/her teaching of this course.:
For the examples, it would be nice if she would check and go over the whole lesson before she goes over it with us, rather than giving us the wrong answers to the examples, leading us to getting the homework problems wrong. If she could some how make the course more exciting would be very helpful, because many people fall asleep or are so bored that they try to resolve their problems by secretly texting, and most don’t get caught. Also, after finishing an example, it would be wonderful if she would leave it on the board for a little longer rather than erasing it and moving on right after she finishes the example. Lastly, it would be nice if she could stop rambling on about an example when she is thinking about it to herself because I noticed that many of my classmates started getting confused.

This course was overall not so bad. It is supposed to be an easy math course especially since some of us had learned all this material in high school, but some still had a pretty rough time. The assignments were especially a pain in the rear because the program “wileyplus” is not a good program to help us learn. It would be so much more easier for the students if we could just use the textbooks rather than using online programs. Especially since some students can not afford to pay for internet or buy themselves a laptop/desktop, and when they are at school the computers are packed most of the times and it gets hard to study because everyone is so loud. Also there were many technical difficulties with the program. Another reason the program was terrible, is that when we do not understand the question, we only have 5 tries to get the right answer, and if some students do not understand the problem, they want to ask the teacher, but if some students don’t have a printer or forgot to print out the question or write it down, the student would have a hard time understanding the question. Where as if we did the problems from the textbook, we would write our process on how we solved the problem on a piece of paper, and we can see exactly where we messed up on while the teacher is explaining it in class. Another problem is that because of the “wileyplus” program, students had to each purchase new class notes with the wileyplus, costing them around $90 when they could have gotten used copies for much less especially with the recession, students are having a hard time paying for books, especially some of the students like me who needed the financial aid, but did not get any rather than just loans which does not help at all because I will still end up paying what I am supposed to pay except with interest. This leads me on to explaining why we should not use “wileyplus” because this “easy to use” program will not let us open a window to view the online textbook for the students who did not buy it to see the extra examples within the textbook while we did the problem;this is because the program only allows us to open one session at a time, and the page expires around every 15 minutes we do not solve a problem, and sometimes the student forgets that she/he has been away from the computer long enough and tries to solve the solution and gets the write answer, but when she/he clicks “submit” it sends them to the “your Wileyplus session is no longer active” page. This causes them to have to resign in and redo the problem, wasting the student’s precious studying time.
Love’n it.

I am SOOO LAZY with this “daily” blogging… soo much has happened.. thank you lord for blessing me with such a great life. :]
Yesterday was Halloween, which was spent making balloons for little cute kids for the Hallelujah fest! It was super fun, besides all the hard work and effort my brother and I had to do to make the balloons as fast as possible for some of the little impatient kids, but they were so cute that it was a blessing to be able to make them smile so big by twisting a balloon for them. Every balloon I made and handed to them, immediately a smile appeared on their face. :]
Since it was the first day of school this week, I found out that I have 2 exams on Friday, including a paper due the same day, and I have to prepare a speech topic for Monday and a speech the following Friday. Well, at least I’m learning.. x|
Oh and today, there was a customer that came in and he kept asking for samples maybe like 5, while he ordered a 1 item with Orange chicken. After my mom finished with the order, she was going to close the box, then the guy goes “that’s all I get?” when my mom gave him a lot for 1 item, but then he goes on saying how our other chicken has been there for a week, that’s why we put a lid on it….I mean c’mon. Can that chicken really last for one week?? The lid was placed on soo the food wouldn’t dry up. He ended up acting really ridiculous with his wife and making my mom really mad… Restaurant business is hard.
P.S. my mom will be receiving radioactive therapy on the 8th, and I would be grateful if she would be kept in your prayers! Thanks :] I love you all<3 now off to bed -yawn-
